We are very excited to add Juno, a Gypsy Vanner Mare who is registered with the GVHS, to our small band of foundation broodmares. She has outstanding breeding which is apparent in her quality. She is sired by Watson’s Old Horse (aka Lad), a son of the original Roadsweeper. Her dam is a larger (15.1 hh) foundation mare still in the UK. Juno is a larger mare, standing about 15 hands tall. As of January 2007, Doug Kneis says, "I bought Juno for one reason. That is that the gypsies are not breeding this type of horse any more in Europe. She is short coupled, sweet headed, with a stallion neck and thick bones. She is what we look for in brood mares with the Gypsy Vanner Horse Registry." Juno has had one of the prettiest fillies that anyone has ever seen. This wonderful Gypsy Mare is bred to Taufin this year. The reason for this is that she is such a great mare that we want our stallions to breed with her and continue her quality.
